Surgery Done!

Surgery is done! I dropped Noelle off Tuesday morning for her operation and was able to go back and pick her up Wednesday morning. She was really happy to see me when I got there (as evidenced above). The surgeon said everything went really well and while she had a complete tear there was no damage to her meniscus which is great. She came out full of energy and walking much better than I expected. I've put a video below of her in the exam room.
He did say she has some damage to her other leg and inflammation but (fingers crossed) that doesn't mean it will also tear. Odds are about 50-60% once one knee has gone. I'm hoping we'll be in the other percentage. The first day/night was hard in the sense that she's visibly uncomfortable between the cone and the bandages but we managed and I feel like very day will get better from here. She's on three medications (anti-biotic, anti-inflammatory and calming aid) so she's a bit out of it. We can go out twice a day to use the bathroom but I have to help her with the stairs and we can't exceed 10 minutes. We go back in a week to get the bandages off and I'll know more then about what comes next. The only aim right now is to rest and recover so we are spending lots of time cuddling and resting and I think we both need it after the stress of the preparation and facing the unknown. So happy to have this part over with and be moving into recovery. Love to all, Jess & Noelle
